Katherine knew that running into Kol would end up being a blessing in disguise. At first she was slightly terrified that his brother, Klaus couldn’t be far behind, but she was able to breath easier after all Kol could seem to do was spit hate and anger about the hybrid she had been running from for so long. After casually bringing the Original along on her stops of ‘keeping an eye’ on Stefan, she was finally ready to face her lost love. When Katherine realized that Stefan was back in Mystic Falls, she jumped at the chance to follow him there, letting Kol in on her plan to get Stefan to join her on her jaunts around the globe. But she wasn’t prepared for the obstacle known as Elena Gilbert. Realizing the newest doppleganger was alive and unintentionally luring Stefan away from her, she had to keep an eye on her in any possible way.
